CONCEPT: Supporting our mission that Wells House Hospice is dedicated to providing compassionate care to terminally ill patients and their families and providing end-of-life education and training for health care teams and the community, we propose to present the many faces that make up hospice. A consistent and particular image will be presented to our public to support a solid identity to increase public awareness and funding.

KEY COPY: I am hospice. And I am looking to be an essential part of the hospice philosophy of care which recognizes that dying is not just a medical event but also a personal one. Looking forward, I recognize the new face of hospice includes me. Volunteer, donate, or support. I need your help. Please give today.

Well House Hospice

Develop fundraising and grantsmanship for programs in end-of-life/palliative care education and training; hospice care for undeserved and uninsured populations and their families; and community outreach and continuing education in end-of-life/palliative care for medical, allied health and human service professionals in the Long Beach and Orange County community.

LONG BEACH, CA: Created content for the catalog and website. Working with the owner and staff developed a proposed position and campaign to support fundraising efforts. Collaborating with existing staff, direct and oversee both internal and external communications programs which support the mission statement, promote the Wells House Hospice Program and Foundation, and increase funding.

Tasks include:

  • conducting market and public opinion research to assess program outcomes

  • suggesting promotional campaign ideas in various media

  • counseling top management on communication strategies

COLLATERAL: With branding in place, instituting the I Am Hospice campaign on several media platforms for advertising, catalogs, and fundraising events.

The best work I’ve seen. I truly appreciate your talent and time.
— Ronald Morgan CEO & Founder, Wells House Hospice

It is important to note Wells House Hospice closed doors shortly after the campaign was instituted. The short time I was there, working with the owner and founder, Ronald Morgan, speaking with his staff, and listening to some of the patients, I left inspired and forever changed for the better.
